My husband will tell you—Julia transformed me!

When I started with Coach Julia, I couldn’t get out of a chair without using my arms to push off. I couldn’t go up and down the stairs without struggling or holding onto a railing.

Because of a knee injury and surgery, I became pretty immobile. I couldn’t walk our pup without a cane, and I gained about 30 pounds because I was eating for comfort.

My husband will tell you—Julia transformed me!

I’m even better than before. I was always a “project person” around the house, but that had completely stopped. Now, I can climb up a ladder, move furniture (which is important to me), and I walk the dog a couple of times every day—no fail—and that’s important to my puppy.

Thanks to Julia’s nutritional guidance and macro approach to eating, I lost the 30 pounds! And yes, I eat carbs. I also learned more about the importance of drinking water for my skin and staying hydrated—especially at 68 years old. I told Coach Julia once that she was better than Botox.

I sleep better, eat better, go to the gym at least two or three times a week, and Julia set me up with home workouts that don’t require a bunch of equipment. Don’t be misled—I was never a gym or workout person. Ever! I never really needed to be. But with aging and injuries, working out and eating better is the only solution to aging gracefully.

Trust me, if it were easy, everyone would be in shape. As Julia often says, it takes practice. But for me, it took Julia’s guidance to show me that working toward a goal is achievable in time. Not with a quick fix, a pill, or a specific "diet" like carnivore, Atkins, paleo, or Weight Watchers (I never understood those “points”).

I tried them all when I gained that rough 30 pounds—they didn’t work because I couldn’t sustain those plans and have a social life.

Now, I eat what I want but know how to adjust when it’s pizza night (and wine).

I feel pretty good about myself because Julia encouraged me to feel proud of my accomplishments. I’m actually at a place where I feel guilty if I’m not moving “intentionally” because I have built a healthy habit.
